STEADY PRESENCE, EMBRACING DARKNESS
Yoga Retreat with Julia
Oct 29 – Nov 1, 2015 at Storm King Mountain
The yoga scriptures say that our affinity for the light and our fear of the dark is the cause of all of our turmoil and strife as we are always running away from one thing and towards something else. True peace comes from equal- vision, from our willingness to expand our awareness to receive the gift of every hue, to transforms the obscured into a recognition of Truth. Together, in the woods of Cornwall-on-Hudson, during this Halloween weekend with festivals celebrating the bounty of both the darkness and the light, we will have the time, the space and the Yoga practices to cultivate steady presence, to strengthen our capacity for staying the course, to thrive by embracing the darkness.
The daily schedule includes asana, meditation, chanting, imbibing the wisdom of the Yoga teachings and will be supported by delicious meals, our collective intention and the natural beauty of the retreat setting. We’ll enjoy stargazing while fireside with the best of company!
There will also be ample time for rest, personal contemplation and optional daily excursions will include hiking and a country lane walk to collect and carve pumpkins.
The retreat will be held in a beautiful, late 1800’s house with ideal spaces for yoga, dining together, plus cozy bedrooms.
