The Secret of Retreat: It’s an Inner Pose
The word retreat first and foremost means to withdraw, to back down. How does this relate to our use of a retreat as a refuge, a place to find solace and inner rest? The wisdom of Yoga clarifies that inner peace is not the product of winning– forging headstrong into our dramas. Rather, it results from an essential internal shift that begins by taking a step backwards and inwards. In Anusara Yoga we call this Open to Grace, beginning our practice with a willingness for personal contemplation that allows us to let go into the larger Truth within rather than hold tight to small, passing truths. This inner pose naturally dissolves our dramas into joy and contentment all the while challenging us to become our most engaged and direct in our daily encounters. Together, in the woods of Cornwall-on-Hudson, we will dive into a focused 3 days of practice to discover what it means to retreat: to find peace within.
The daily schedule includes asana, meditation, chanting, imbibing the wisdom of the Yoga teachings and will be supported by delicious meals, our collective intention and the natural beauty of the retreat setting. We’ll enjoy stargazing while fireside with the best of company!
There will also be ample time for rest, personal contemplation and optional daily excursions will include kayaking the Hudson and a country lane walk to collect and carve pumpkins.
The retreat will be held in a beautiful, late 1800’s house with ideal spaces for yoga, dining together, plus cozy bedrooms.

$575 for dorm (triple/quad)
$650 for double occupancy
$725 for single occupancy

Retreat Package includes:
5 active, opening yoga classes
3 vegetarian meals a day
Arrive Friday evening (many will come after work)
Head home Monday afternoon
