This Immersion is an opportunity to engage with the full range of the Yoga practices in a small group setting with the guidance of a sought after teacher. Immersing in this way transforms your practice of asana, meditation and self-reflection. Deepen your understanding of the yoga philosophy, the biomechanics of the body and the power of self-exploration that is gained by directing your attention inwards.

The Immersion format is 100 hours of study over 4 months, designed to invite you more fully into your own practice. It includes focused exploration of the asana poses, alignment principles and anatomy, creating and deepening a meditation and pranayama practice, and diving into Yoga’s history– all while discovering the potency of Yoga’s ancient wisdom.

Julia has studied with true masters, having cultivated her own practice under their guidance and through their example. She continues to craft her method of teaching using the comprehensive system of Anusara yoga’s Universal Principles of Alignment, from her in-depth study of the human body, and by living in the exquisite realm of the yoga scriptures.

This program is a pre-requisite to Julia’s Teacher Training Jan-April 2017. (An Immersion is the first 100hr of an Anusara Yoga 200hr Teacher Training.) This first year emphasizes gaining a foothold in the practices, making them your own as you learn where they come from and the power that they hold, while the second year challenges and encourages us to incorporate the unfolding processes of the practices into our daily life, we learn to speak about our experiences and act upon them (whether we intend to teach yoga classes or not.) Why should you consider becoming a trained yoga teacher?

• Apr. 3, 10, 17
• 5 Tuesday/Thursday evening excursions will also be a part of this training, dates to be chosen by the group
